About

Vault Kit started as a group chat where a few of us kept sending each other screenshots and arguing about whether a game was worth the storage space. At some point the arguments got long enough that we figured we might as well write them down properly. That's the whole origin story — no grand mission statement, just people who like playing on their phones and talking about it.,We cover every genre because our own tastes are all over the place. One editor lives inside turn-based strategy, another can't put down cozy simulators, and someone is always chasing the next twitchy arcade high score. When we pick a game to review, it's usually because it did something a little different, or because a lot of people were asking about it and we wanted a clear answer.,Every game we write about, we actually play — not for five minutes, but long enough to hit the walls, the grind, the moments where a design either holds up or falls apart. We take our own screenshots, note the annoying stuff, and try to describe the feel rather than list features.,We're not tied to any studio, and we're not a storefront. If a game is mediocre we say so, and if a small unknown title surprises us we make noise about it. That's the only editorial rule that really matters here.
